Our restaurant ‘Carter at the Sun Inn’, is named after our Head Chef Sam Carter who first led our small team of chefs to gain our rosette in 2009. Sam has been a chef for 17 years, his early days were spent in a variety of London restaurants. He has also enjoyed working in two of the most passionate culinary areas, the French Alps and Turin in northern Italy, as well as spending time on the west coast of Ireland. He draws on all of this experience to create menus that are bursting with flavour and textures.
Our menu changes regularly to ensure it is in tune with the seasons, using the fabulous local and regional produce at its best. Highlights of our current menu include Herdwick Lamb from Yew Tree Farm in Coniston and beautiful Scottish Salmon from the Argyll Smokery.
