The Sun Inn in Kirkby Lonsdale has been listed in The Good Food Guide as a ‘Local Gem’
An independent and authoritative guide to eating out in the UK, the book has been published annually since 1951 and is compiled from a combination of reader recommendations and anonymous, expert inspections. According to the publisher, the Local Gems highlight “those perfect neighbourhood entries that we all wish we had on our doorsteps”.
The Good Food Guide is compiled from scratch every year and has a team of anonymous inspectors across the UK, including food critics, writers and chefs. They inspect establishments by eating at restaurants, pubs and cafés like any other consumer; they never announce who they are, and they may attend individually or in groups, at lunch or at dinner, any day of the week.
At the Sun Inn dedicated foodies can enjoy tasty lunches and bar snacks, scrumptious Sunday lunches, pre-dinner nibbles and three-course evening menus in the AA rosette-rated restaurant. We also hold regular ‘Posh Nosher’ events and wine tasting evenings, with upcoming dates including: 6 Oct 2014 (Australia themed), 24 Nov 2014 (Bordeaux), 19 Jan 2015 (Three counties: Cumbria, Lancashire & Yorkshire) and 16 March 2015 (The Americas).
