Paws for Thought – A lovely walk to Clawthorpe Fell on my day off
Hi, my furry friends,
Charlie here – Chief Pooch and Head of Welcomes at the Sun Inn, Kirkby Lonsdale.
Last week, I had a day off after a busy weekend welcoming lovely visitors to the Sun Inn, so I took my human, Iain, for a walk.
If you’ve visited my hometown of Kirkby Lonsdale, you’ll know that we’re spoilt for choice when it comes to lovely walks in the area. We’re right on the edge of the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Lancashire, so we have plenty of routes to choose from when it comes to walkies.
Iain and I headed out for a nice wander around Clawthorpe Fell, Pickles Wood and Hutton Roof Crags Nature Reserve. The route was a handy 10 minutes away from Kirkby Lonsdale and a nice, peaceful walk with plenty of wildlife, including roe deer, rabbits and pheasant.
This is probably one of my favourite walks, with lots of sights and smells, and I would certainly recommend it to any fellow four-legged friends and their humans.
In fact, if you’re planning a summer getaway to enjoy the sunshine, then why not book a break at the Sun Inn? We’re super dog-friendly – a number of our rooms can be booked for your dog to enjoy too, and dogs are also welcome in the bar and dog-friendly dining area of the restaurant. We even give dogs a welcome Pooch Pack when they arrive (trust me, it gets my approval!)
You could check out this walk to Clawthorpe Fell, or discover some other nice routes in the sunshine. There are plenty to enjoy, right from the doorstep of the Sun Inn. And if you get muddy (who doesn’t love a paddle in the water to cool down?) don’t worry, we have a dog and boot shower too!
At the moment, we have two brilliant getaway offers available, take a look here.
Looking forward to giving you a big, friendly greeting to the Sun Inn soon!
