Meet the team: Arina Hazan, Housekeeper

Happy New Year everyone! We’re kicking off our first blog of 2019 with another instalment of our Meet the Team series.

So far, we’ve introduced you to our wonderfully friendly general manager, Janine and our super talented head chef, Joe

Today we’d like you to meet our lovely housekeeper, Arina Hazan. Arina is one of our longest serving staff members and has worked here for 11 years! She makes sure that every one of our rooms is totally spotless for our guests enjoying a relaxing getaway at the Sun Inn.

Tell us a bit about yourself

I have lived in Kirkby Lonsdale for 11 years but I am originally from Latvia! I have one son, his name is Emil.

How long have you worked at the Sun Inn?

11 years, I started here as a waitress at the same time as I moved to the town.

What are your main responsibilities and what’s the best bit about your job?

I do the housekeeping, so I make sure people enjoy staying in nice and clean rooms. The best bit about my job is the people I work with, we’re all like a small family here! As I’ve worked here for so long the Sun Inn really does feel like a second home to me. I also love lunch time because the chefs will make a nice lunch for us.

What’s your favourite tipple and your favourite food choice off the menu?

A non-alcoholic drink I like mint tea, but if I go out then a whiskey and coke. My favourite choice off the menu is the steak.

Why do you think the Sun Inn is such a popular venue in the town?

I think because it’s a very friendly place and very cosy.

What’s your favourite work memory?

My first day here!

What’s your favourite thing about Kirkby Lonsdale?

I love that it is very quiet and small so everyone knows each other.

A day in the life of Arina Hazan

My morning alarm goes off at 6.30am. I have a cup of coffee and make sure my son is ready and sorted for school. Then I shower and get ready for work before having breakfast. After I do the school run I go straight to work and get through all my tasks of the morning before having lunch at the Sun. I clock off at 3pm and then my evening routine is usually making some dinner for us, then pyjamas on the sofa, watching a film and chilling out.
